In order to show you how to install Ionic 4 on macOS, we start by installing node.js via NVM or Node Version Manager. NVM allows us to manage different versions of node on our macOS system. After installing node, the next step is to use the Node Package Manager or NPM to install the Ionic CLI and Ionic Core files as well as Cordova. Once this is done, your system is ready to develop Ionic apps. You will, of course, need to install a text editor and VS Code is a great text editor, which I show you how to install in this tutorial as well.
